Maintain the cost accounting system, and analyze areas of operations for improvements. Support areas of operations with financial data for budget forecasting, and provide inventory analyses to manufacturing operations. Duties: • Monitor the cost system for variances and provide assistance to various departments to maintain the integrity of the cost records. • Provides support to marketing and management for yearly budget forecasting. • Provide variance reports to the purchasing department to maintain standard cost. • Maintains monthly inventory reconciliation between perpetual records and general ledger. • Maintain the standard system cost records and roll standards on a timely basis. • Assists in the setting and maintenance of semi- annual overhead rates. • Implements new cost system processes as required to support continuous improvements. • Looks to continuously improve all facets of reporting and analysis in cost operations. • Assists with coordinating fiscal year end physical inventories. Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in Accounting • 2 plus years of cost accounting experience • Minimum of five years manufacturing experience preferred • Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and generally accepted accounting principles • Ability to work independently • Good organization skills • Ability to work and communicate with others • Must have experience with Microsoft Office 2007 • Strong MS Excel experience • Experience working with large databases is a plus Must Haves: ·Standard cost accounting experience ·Activity-based cost accounting experience ·Heavy manufacturing experience preferred (BOM, etc.)
